Tramin probably owes its name to this very grape variety, which was already known throughout the German-speaking world as “Traminer” as early as the 13th century. Today, Gewürztraminer is one of South Tyrol’s most popular wines. Notes of rose petals, cloves, lychee, and tropical fruits characterise its aroma. Its deep colour and rich texture make it the ideal wine for a quiet moment.

Alongside Pinot Noir and Vernatsch, Lagrein is one of South Tyrol’s most important red grape varieties. This indigenous wine, full of character, originates from Bolzano and is currently enjoying a real renaissance. Aromas of wild berries, fresh cherries, and violets combine on the palate with a velvety richness and gentle acidity.

This indigenous grape variety was first mentioned in writing as early as the end of the Middle Ages and has played a central role in South Tyrolean viticulture since the 16th century. Sweet cherries, redcurrants, raspberries, and strawberries characterise its flavour, complemented by subtle hints of almonds and violets. The Vernatsch impresses with its light body, moderate alcohol content, and a distinctive character typical of the region.
