Plattenhof: wine production and tasting in South Tyrol
The grapes that give our estate its character grow where the sun lingers particularly long over the Tramin vineyards. We, the Dissertori family, have been running our winery with great dedication for generations, and we love nothing more than sharing this passion with our guests – whether over a glass of wine, at a tasting, or simply while taking in the view of the vineyards from the hotel.
Wine-growing with a long tradition
To the south-west of Bolzano lie the gently rolling hills of the Bassa Atesina/Unterland area, right alongside South Tyrol’s wine road. Nestled in the heart of a time-honoured wine-growing region, surrounded by picturesque Gewürztraminer terraces, lies our winery in South Tyrol, offering accommodation and wine tastings. For 400 years, the grapes for our award-winning wines have been growing here in Söll, above the wine-growing village of Tramin.
Covering an area of around 3 hectares, this is where the “Queen of white wines” is cultivated – the basis for our intensely fragrant and multi-award-winning Gewürztraminer. The sunny location at 450 metres above sea level and the nutrient-rich soil provide the ideal conditions for this demanding grape variety, which is native to South Tyrol.

Our award-winning Gewürztraminer
Among our estate wines, the Gewürztraminer holds a special place. This indigenous grape variety is deeply rooted in Tramin and its history, and carries the village’s name out into the world; it is thought to have been cultivated in this area as far back as Roman times. Rose petals, lychee, and tropical fruits characterise the aroma of this wine; combined with its intense colour and rich texture, this makes it a versatile choice – whether with fish, spicy starters, or on its own as an aperitif. It also shows itself at its best with Asian dishes and as a dessert wine – a true all-rounder among wines. Anyone who visits our winery in South Tyrol for an overnight stay and a wine tasting will experience this very wine in its purest form.
On Mondays, straight after dinner, your host Werner Dissertori invites you to a wine tasting, where you can sample our home-grown wines and the finest Gewürztraminer wines. At our winery in South Tyrol, which offers accommodation and wine tastings, we combine tradition with warm hospitality.
We also, of course, serve our Gewürztraminer and other estate wines in our hotel and in the à la carte restaurant next door. This way, our treasures will be a delight to you throughout your stay.
